高職實用技能班機械類科學生升學意願及態度之調查研究

A Study of the Intention for and Attitude to Further Education of Students in Practical-skill-oriented Program of mechanical departments in Vocational High Schools

摘要


本研究係以實用技能班機械類科學生三年級為研究對象,探討影響升學意願與態度的個人背景、家庭背景及學校背景等因素,研究結果可作為輔導學生改進教學之參考。 本研究採調查研究法,針對全國辦有實用技能班機械類科之全體學生以問卷調查蒐集資料,共寄發1105份問卷,回收1057份,回收率達95.7%,剔除填答不完全者,實際有效問卷為1034份,問卷可用率達93.6%。並以適當統計方法分析調查資料,以分析不同背景因素對學生升學意願及態度之影響。 本研究獲致的結論如下: 1.性別變項方面:在升學意願上男學生比女學生高;在升學進路選擇上,男學生以機械本科系為最高;在升學態度上,男學生除學校學習成效上,皆比女學生高。 2.學業成績變項方面:在升學意願上,學生學業成績在90分以上者最高;在升學進路上,成績60分以上者皆以機械本科系為最高;在升學態度上,男學生80分以上者其升學動機、升學準備、學校學習成效比70分以下者高。 3.出生序變項方面:在升學意願上,以長子(女)較高;在升學進路上,均以機械本科系為最高;在升學態度上,長子(女)、其他含三子(女)四子(女)等比獨生子(女)、次子(女)高。 4.居住地變項方面:在升學意願上,學生居於省轄市、縣轄市者升學意願較高;在升學進路上,皆以機械本科系為最高;以居於鄉鎮以外地區之學生在升學準備上最高。 5.父親教育程度變項方面:在升學意願上,父親教育程度為高中以上者其學生升學意願較高;在升學進路上,父親除專科程度以外其他各級教育程度者其學生皆以機械本科系為最高;父親為大學以上教育程度者在升學態度上較高。 6.母親教育程度變項方面:以專科以者升學意願高;在升學進路上,皆以機械本科系最高;在升學態度上,母親國中以上教育程度者其學生升學態度較高。 7.家庭總收入變項方面:在升學意願上,家庭每月總收入為3萬元以上者較高;在升學進路上,均以機械本科系為最高;在升學態度上每月總收入3萬元以上者其學生升學態度較高。 8.父母親對其升學態度變項方面:在升學意願上,父母親持鼓勵態度及無意見者,學生升學意願高;在升學進路上,父母親持鼓勵及無意見者以選擇機械本科系為最高;在升學態度上,在父母親對其升學態度上,父母親持鼓勵者在升學態度高於無意見及反對者。 9.家庭隸屬變項方面:在升學意願上,公立學校學生升學意願比私立學校升學意願略高;在升學進路上,學校位於北部、中部及南部地區者其學生均以機械本科系為最高;在升學態度上,公立學校學生除在個人能力上高於私立學校而其他升學態度之各項構面則皆低於私立學校。 10.學校所在地變項方面:在升學意願上,北部中部南部地區之學生其升學意願皆較高;在升學進路上,各學校所在地均以機械本科系為最高;在升學態度上,中部及南部地區學生升學態度較高。 本研究對教育行政單位的建議如下: 1.宜審慎規畫調整實用技能班機械類科學生課程設計,俾兼顧有升學意願之學生。 2.辦理學校可因應地方特性而彈性調整設科與招生。 對學校的建議: 1.招生入學前提供學校科別簡介以供學生了解就讀各科課程內容。 2.落實學校本位課程之精神,規畫適合實用技能班當地學生需求之課程。 3.輔導學業成績較低者加強技能學習。 4.加強學校與家長間親師互動機制。 關鍵詞:實用技能班、升學意願、機械類科

This study aims to investigate the effects of students’ personal, family, and school backgrounds on their intention for further education and their learning attitude. The third-graders of the practical-skill-oriented program of the mechanical departments in vocational high schools are the main targets of this research. A questionnaire survey was conducted by selecting the target students in Taiwan for the purpose of analyzing some statistic data. Totally 1105 copies of the questionnaire were sent to the students, and 1057 copies were returned. The return rate was about 95.7%. The number of effective questionnaire was 1034 copies, satisfactorily reaching up to 93.6%. From the experimental results and analyses, we hope to understand the effects of different factors on students’ intention for further education and also to give suggestions for the improvement of students’ learning. Conclusions for this study are as follows: 1. Gender: Male students have stronger intention for further education than female students. Also, most of them choose to major in mechanical engineering, and male students perform better learning effectiveness. 2. Academic performance: Students scored over 90 reveal the greatest aspiration for further studies. Students scored over 60 choose to continue as mechanical engineering majors. Male students scored over 80 show greater motivation and preparation to continue their studies than those over 70, and their learning effectiveness is also more satisfactory. 3. Order of birth: The oldest child of the family often reveals the greatest aspiration for further studies. The third or fourth child also shows stronger intention than the second or the only child of the family. 4. Residence: Students living in the provincial or county regions show greater aspiration for further education, and they choose to major in mechanical engineering. 5. Paternal educational level: Students whose paternal education is about the average or higher level show greater aspiration for further studies. Except for those whose fathers are college graduates, most students choose to continue their studies in the scope of mechanical engineering. Fathers usually show positive attitude toward students’ further education if they are bachelor or have higher educational level. 6. Maternal educational level: Students whose mothers are college graduates reveal the greatest aspiration for further education, and they also prefer mechanical engineering department. Generally speaking, students whose mother graduated from junior high schools show higher willingness for their children to continue studies. 7. Family income: Students who come from a family with the monthly income over NT$30,000 reveal greater aspiration for further studies, and their learning effect is more satisfactory. Also, they choose to study in the scope of mechanical engineering. 8. Parents’ attitudes: Parents’ attitudes have a lot to do with students’ aspiration for further education and learning effectiveness. Students whose parents take a positive encouraging attitude reveal higher willingness for further studies than those whose parents take an indifferent or negative attitude. 9. Family affiliation: Students from public vocational high schools show greater aspiration for further studies than those from private ones. Students from the north, center and south of Taiwan choose to major in mechanical engineering. 10. School location: Students from the north, center and south of Taiwan show greater aspiration to continue their studies. In the learning attitude, students from the north show poorer preparation and learning effectiveness than those from the center, south and east. Suggestion for educational administration organizations is: 1. Design the curricula for the students of the practical-skill-oriented program of the mechanical departments discreetly to help them cope with future studies or career development. 2. The schools with the practical-skill-oriented program can make a flexible adjustment by establishing new departments based on the local characteristics. Suggestion for schools is: 1. Before enrolling students, schools should provide as much information about their departments as possible, so that students can have a better understanding about the curriculum of each department. 2. Carry out the spirit of the school-oriented curricula and meanwhile design appropriate curricula for the local students of practical-skill-oriented program. 3. Help those who have poor academic performance to learn more skills. 4. Strengthen the interactive relationship between teachers and parents.
