The purpose of this research is to explore the use of ARCS motivation model to construct 3D VR anti-smoking education intervention on high school students' learning motivation, knowledge progress and learning effectiveness. Adopting the intentional sampling method, 120 research subjects were randomly recruited to conduct interventional pre-test and post-test questionnaire surveys. Using SPSS 23.0, descriptive analysis, paired t-test analysis and stepwise regression analysis were performed. Research conclusions: 1.After the curriculum intervention, the ARCS motivation model, knowledge progress and learning effectiveness that affect learners are significantly improved. 2.The learner's background factor, the non-use of cigarettes, and the "attention" in the ARCS motivation model are the factors that have a significant impact on knowledge progress. 3.The learner's background factors are female, living with parents and the ARCS motivation model of "attracting attention", "relevant", and "getting satisfaction", which have a significant impact on learning effectiveness. 4.Qualitative research shows that the overall curriculum is entertaining, has a significant improvement in learning effectiveness, and can practice the skills of rejecting tobacco products. The overall evaluation of the curriculum is of educational value, can improve learning satisfaction and is worth sharing. This research proves that using the ARCS motivation model to reject the intervention of tobacco education courses with 3D VR has a significant improvement and impact on learners’ learning motivation and learning effectiveness. It can improve the existing traditional standard teaching mode and have curriculum characteristics, and can enhance the learning motivation and learning effectiveness of the current smoke control education curriculum.
