摘要

本研究旨在探討晏陽初的學思歷程與定縣實驗的經過，透過史料的蒐集、整理與歸納，以了解晏陽初的平民教育思想與定縣實驗的內容，並探討定縣經驗對台灣偏鄉教育改進的啟示。主要研究結果如下：

一、晏陽初的平民教育思想深受孔子、基督教、苦力影響，使其具有民為邦本的責任心、基督教─愛的奉獻精神以及願意苦民所苦為之追尋平等的意志。
二、定縣實驗是一個以愛國運動為出發點，以科學研究為基礎，以社會改革為目的鄉村改造實驗。
三、定縣實驗對偏鄉教育的三大啟示：
(一)政策制度通盤的變革
(二)愛鄉愛土情懷的培養
(三)適性揚才理念的落實

The main purpose of thesis is to inquire Yen Yang-Chu’s learning experiences and results through his thinking and the contents of his experiments in Ding county, and further illustrate its implications for education in contemporary Tawian. The main findings are as follows:
First,Yen Yang Chu’s thinking was affected by Confucious,Christ and Coolies. These theories establish his responsibility for “People is the foundation of the nation”`, love of Christian dedication and understanding of people's suffering and search of equality.
Second, Experiments in Ding county not only take patriotic movement as a starting point,but also establish itself on the basis of science to fulfill the social reform.
Finally, the implications of the Ding County Model for education in contemporary Tawian :Ⅰ.Overall change in system.Ⅱ.Cultivate the love for country.Ⅲ.Achieve talent praising well.
