The main purpose of thesis is to inquire Yen Yang-Chu’s learning experiences and results through his thinking and the contents of his experiments in Ding county, and further illustrate its implications for education in contemporary Tawian. The main findings are as follows: First,Yen Yang Chu’s thinking was affected by Confucious,Christ and Coolies. These theories establish his responsibility for “People is the foundation of the nation”`, love of Christian dedication and understanding of people's suffering and search of equality. Second, Experiments in Ding county not only take patriotic movement as a starting point,but also establish itself on the basis of science to fulfill the social reform. Finally, the implications of the Ding County Model for education in contemporary Tawian :Ⅰ.Overall change in system.Ⅱ.Cultivate the love for country.Ⅲ.Achieve talent praising well.
