從傳統節慶活動 探討華人會館建構地方性之集體記憶 ——以烏魯音峇魯新村為例

摘要


本文旨在把馬來西亞的華人會館、華人新村和傳統節慶,環扣於一個樞紐中進行研究,探討華人會館組織及籌劃傳統節慶活動和村民們的參與,如何建構華人新村的集體記憶。 海外華人文化研究,無論在中國、香港和臺灣,或新加坡和馬來西亞等,各地的學術界中,皆是熱門的研究領域。有關馬來西亞的華人會館、華人新村和傳統節慶這三大主題的研究成果,亦相當豐碩。然,卻鮮少有學者,將這三大主題環扣於一,並聚焦於一個新村的定點研究。故此,本文將研究範圍,界定於一個華人新村——烏魯音峇魯新村,以及成立於新村中的華人會館。 烏魯音峇魯新村村民,以華人會館名義,組織及籌劃華人傳統節慶活動,建構出地方性對傳統節慶活動的集體記憶。本文針對三個問題面向進行研究,並得出結論為:第 一,因傳統節慶活動的儀式具有其特殊性,因此村民對儀式的特殊性,

This article is aiming to analyze and examine the local collective memory of people in Chinese New Village in Malaysia. Several factors will be taken into account as a whole, such as influence of Chinese Association, Chinese New Village, Chinese Traditional Celebrations, to show how these factors influent the participation of Chinese in their traditional celebrations and how they strategize to celebrate those celebrations. By virtue of those participations, how theirs collective memory subsequently be formed. The research and study of Chinese culture (by taking into account Chinese Association, Chinese New Village, Chinese Traditional Celebration) is overwhelming around the world, such studies can be found in several territories, include China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. However, researchers usually take those factors in isolation when conducting their research towards a new village. This article intends to take into account those factors as a whole and how they influence a specific new village, called Ulu Yam Bharu and Chinese Association in Ulu Yam Bharu. The people in Ulu Yam Bharu had strategized and organized several traditional Chinese Celebrations in the name of Chinese Association. As a result, this gives rise to local collective memory of those people towards their celebration at their village. Three conclusions have been drawn from the finding of this article. First, the formalities of celebrating the Chinese traditions are peculiar, and the people have strong bonds and feelings to such uniqueness, which eventually form their local collective memory. Second, people in new village usually consist those from different native places in China, they may have different local collective memory due to their origins. Third, such local collective memory has been inherited from generations to generations, however they remain solid and unchanged. By collecting original data of Chinese Association years and years general meeting and minutes, compilation of those data has shown how people celebrate their Chinese Traditional Celebration in this new village. This article is through interviews to collecting the collective memory aiming two main groups such as general people from Ulu Yam Bharu and the members of Chinese Association in Ulu Yam Bharu. Also, collecting the news on newspaper about development of Lion Dance this symbol of traditional culture and suppressed by the government of Malaysia in between 1980 and 2000. How the group of Lion Dance set up in Chinese Association to build the Collective Memory of people from Ulu Yam Bharu in the past, also analyze in this article.
