以科幻觀點形塑未來工藝之設計創作

傳統工藝是自古以來人類製造器物的經驗結晶，從最初的石器時代演進至近代各文化種種豐富又精妙的各種高級器物，一直都存在人們的生活之中。傳統木藝也是現代各高級器物品牌的基石，無奈工業革命之後傳統生活工藝逐漸被淘汰、停止了演進，而現代器物的發展轉變為以市場及利潤的消費模式為導向，產品設計的發展逐漸趨向連鎖品牌巨型企業、爭相模仿潮流所造成單一相似的設計語彙以及快速淘汰文化為主，工具化的設計原則也限制了市面上的產品設計對物質美學的新探討，而這也是當代工藝亟思突破的地方。本研究內容在思索如何藉由科幻的觀點探討木藝下一階段的未來，不僅延續自未來主義宣言、流線設計以及推測設計對於未來渴望的精神，並以現今時代的設計標準，分析探討後得出一套未來的設計原則，其提出以（1）類型與構思、（2）設計形態與類比、（3）材質與表面處理、（4）細節與情境營造等四類面向來檢視科幻與工藝的跨領域觀點。其後，由此發想及設計製造出結合科幻的木藝創作，並以此為基礎提出（1）圓-黑月、（2）圓-高等維度顏-1、（3）圓-高等維度顏-2、（4）三角-高等維度金字塔、（5）方-次元通道等五組實驗創作，探討其木藝創作之實驗性，期提供創作者能發展出兼顧傳統工藝美好以及未來前瞻性的新作品。

The traditional craftsmanship is the crown jewel of the experience of manufacturing, it has existed among people since stone-age. Traditional wood crafting is also the foundation of high end luxury brands nowadays. However, traditional crafting is dying out and stagnating because of the Industrial Revolution and Invention of machinery. Not only designs trend to similar style and major corporational chain brands, but also have short life-cycles. The limitation of exploring physical materials and aesthetics which is also the essential that modern day craft need to break through. This study discussed the future stage of wood crafting with a sci-fi perspective through reviewing literature and design cases that imaging the future from Futurism, Streamline design and Speculative design. Come up with four types of viewpoints to review sci-fi/woodcraft cross-field perspective : 1.design genre and perspective, 2.design form and analogy, 3.material and finishing, 4.detail and scenario building. With those these four types of viewpoints, producing five forward-looking experimental creations of futuristic wood crafts : 1.circular: black moon, 2.circular: high dimensional face-1, 3.circular: high dimensional face-2, 4. triangular: high dimensional pyramid, 5.square: dimensional portal. Exploring its potential and experimental, and hoping it could provide a foundation for following creators to create new futuristic craftworks.
