極簡風格之產品形塑研究 -以生活用品設計創作為例

摘要


極簡風格在產品設計領域裡,為一項具代表性的表現形式,極簡風格隨時代而演進,現今以多元的樣貌共存於設計領域中,其核心思想、表現形式各不相同。本研究旨在探討極簡風格於產品設計的思維理念,與建構產品的形塑方法,並將研究結果應用於本研究之設計創作。 藉由文獻探討釐清極簡風格於產品領域的發展脈絡,解析現代主義與極簡主義的中心思想、表現形式,比較兩主義之間的分別,並從中歸納極簡風格於產品的形塑要點。透過案例研究了解產品建構「極簡」所運用的設計要素,和外在表現形式所營造的內在感受,列舉最常使用的表現手法,並具體歸納出三項極簡風格的設計形式。設計創作選定生活用品做為創作主題,運用研究所掌握的設計要點,以三項創新產品詮釋研究中所歸納之極簡形式。經由實務設計的心路歷程,了解不同極簡風格之產品在創作時的考量重點、思維脈絡,與表達極簡理念所面臨之設計難題。 本研究從現代主義與極簡主義的角度,解釋了「極簡」一詞所代表的內在涵意,由中心思想與表現形式兩個層面來歸納產品的形塑要點,並透過實務設計來檢驗研究之結論,確認其可行性,期研究之成果能提供相關研究或設計人員一項參考依據。 本研究之主要結論如下: (1)現代主義的中心思想為機能至上、理性思考,極簡主義的中心思想為追求極端的簡潔,理性思考中帶有感性成分。 (2)產品設計依循機能性發展,去除對機能無助益之元素,運用極簡設計要素,以凸顯產品最重要的機能。 (3)機能的變化性、多重性,以整合或轉化的設計方法可有效達成;以幾何元素來建構極簡設計之表現,外觀線條筆直俐落,鮮少使用曲面,產品配色多為無彩色、金屬色與材料原色;誠實的呈現材料本身的特性與質感,不假冒材質。 (4)極簡形式於產品設計可分為理性的機能主義、感性的機能主義與形式主義三類。

Minimalist style is a representative expression in the field of product design. This study aims at discussing the thoughts and concepts of minimalist style in the field of product design and the way of product configuration. The conclusion of the study is applied to the designing creation of this study. Through literature review, this study figures out the development and context of minimalist style in the field of products, analyzes the core thoughts and expressions of modernism and minimalism, compares the differences between these two thoughts, and concludes the key developing points of minimalist style in products. Through case studies, we understand the designing elements applied by “minimalism” of product configuration and the interior feeling caused by exterior expressions. This study also lists the most used expressions and concludes three substantial minimalist designing forms. Daily supplies are taken as the theme of creation for the designing. With the key designing points realized in the study, the concluded minimalist forms in the study are interpreted by three creative products. Through the actual experiences of practical designing, we realize the points of considerations, thoughts, and contexts for the creation of products with various minimalist styles and express the designing problems confronted by minimalist concepts. This study explains the interior implication of “minimalism” from the perspectives of modernism and minimalism. It concludes the key developing points of products through core thoughts and expressions. The conclusion of the study is examined by practical designing to confirm the feasibility. The conclusions of this study are as follows: (1)The core thoughts of modernism are functionality as top priority and rational thoughts. The core thought of minimalism is the pursuit of extreme concision and the rational thoughts with elements of sensibility. (2)The designing of products is developed based on functionality, get rid of unhelpful elements for functionality, and apply minimalist designing elements for expressing the most important functionality of products. (3)The changeability and multiplicity of functionality can be reached effectively in the designing ways of integration or conversion. The expression of minimalist designing is structured by geometric elements. The lines of the appearance are straight and clear with seldom curved planes. The colors of products are mostly colorless, color of metal, or the original color of materials. The features and texture of materials are honestly presented without faking materials. (4)In the field of product design, the minimalist forms are divided into rational functionalism, sensitive functionalism, and formalism.
