「尊重生命,化蛹重生」教化方案對收容人之影響 - 以臺北看守所為例

摘要


本研究主要目的在瞭解矯正機關之教化方案在強化「生命教育」內涵後,對於收容人在機關內之生理面向、心理面向、尊重生命之課程理念、社會支持及收容人在面臨壓力的策略行為反應等各面向之表現是否具有顯著差異。當前行刑政策多次強調生命教育的重要,惟相關文獻於矯正機關卻鮮少正式提出,故本研究自我定位為初探性研究。 臺北看守所設計之「尊重生命,化蛹重生」教化方案係以蝴蝶為介質,以「化蛹重生」為名喻意矯正機關內之收容人現階段失去自由的處境正如毛毛蟲化蛹成蝶的過程一般,必須經歷一次又一次的蛻皮成長,才能破繭而出羽化成蝶,該教案有別於傳統矯正機關之教案設計而使用活體為教化介質,藉由動植物之餵養或栽種、觀察及紀錄其成長之過程,以培養收容人之耐心與細心,進而體認生命成長的意義與價值,學習尊重生命,關懷大自然,並以積極負責、正向之態度面對自己的人生。 本研究係就臺北看守所參與「尊重生命,化蛹重生」教化方案的收容人進行為期6個月的研究。方案內容的設計配合蝴蝶成長的生命歷程,包括專題演講、飼養與栽種、觀察紀錄及心得分享等單元,採循序漸進方式,藉互動的歷程產生依附連結,使參與個案瞭解生命的價值與意義。本研究採準實驗研究法並輔以問卷調查法,就量的資料客觀分析,以描述性統計、獨立樣本t檢定及單因子變異數分析等統計方法來進行分析處理,並就質的資料分析參與個案的回饋與需求, 研究結果認為:一、「尊重生命,化蛹重生」教化方案對於收容人在監各面向之表現具有顯著差異之影響。二、「尊重生命,化蛹重生」教化方案實施結果,參與收容人對於教案的滿意度多持肯定與認同的態度。三、方案的實施應考量矯正機關場域的特殊性,如生活作息、社會實踐、活動場地等問題。本文依研究結果據以提出相關建議,期能為矯正機關爾後推動「生命教育」提供新(心)思維!

This research main purpose is to try and understand a rehabilitation program within a correctional institution, which seeks to strengthen the element of life education in 5 aspects: the physiology aspect, the psychology aspect, the connotation of life education program, the social support, and strategy response in facing pressure. The authorities have emphasized life education as important many times, but there were few official studies. Therefore, this research is seen as pioneering. The Taipei Detention Center has designed a “Birth of Butterfly” rehabilitation program –where the butterfly is taken as a suitable metaphor. It means that inmates in correction institution lose the free situation presently just like the caterpillar pupation process. They must experience the need to grow again and again, and then can break the cocoon to be a butterfly. The program is different from the traditional. By feeding or planting this metaphor, observing and recording the process of its growth, they will realize the life value and face their life positively. This research examined the six month-long process for those inmates who participate in “the Birth of the Butterfly” rehabilitation program in Taipei Detention Center. The design of this program coordinates the life course of butterfly growth, including the unit of monographic lecture, feeding and planting, observation records, and attainment share, etc. This program let inmates realize the value and the significance of life step by step. It makes attachment effect through interactive process. This research uses a quasi-experimental methodology and questionnaire survey. On the quantitative analysis, this research takes Descriptive Statistics, Independent t Test and One-way Analysis of Variance, and also analyses the quality data to understand the inmates feedback and needs. The key findings of this study are as follows. First of all, “the Birth of the Butterfly” rehabilitation program has had a significant influence on those inmates in every aspect in the prison. Second, the inmates participating in the rehabilitation program have an affirmative and positive attitude toward this degree of satisfaction. Third, when we practice the program, we should take the individual factor of the correction institution into consideration, including routine activity, social practice, activity place, etc. To sum up, this study puts forward suggestions based on the conclusions of the research. They may provide reference for spreading “life education” in other correctional institutions.
