本研究採行動研究,旨在藉由讀報教育實施品格教育課程的歷程,瞭解在教學現場中可能遇到的困難與可行的教學策略,並探討實施品格教育對學生的影響,以及教師在參與品格教育行動研究的省思與成長。 研究者以任教班級之22位國小四年級學生為研究對象,歷經18週以品格核心價值「誠實」、「負責」、「尊重」、「孝順」、「關懷」與「感恩」為主題的品格教育。藉由教師的教學、觀察、省思記錄,學生的學習單、檢核表,學生與家長的回饋單等資料,輔以學生行為檢核表前後測來進行分析。歸納本研究所獲致的結論如下: 一、《國語日報》的內容涵蓋各個學習領域,擷取各版面適當的素材作為推動品格教育的媒介,可藉此彌補「道德」融入各科學習領域之後所可能被忽略之疑慮。而在課程規劃上可針對報紙多樣化版面的特性,搭配多元化的教學活動,運用「閱讀與討論」、「自我反省」、「生活實踐」的教學模式設計,增進學生之學習興趣。 二、教師以《國語日報》進行品格教育課程時,在面臨到讀報素材內容蘊含多樣品格核心價值與素材來源的不確定因素,以及教師引導討論技巧不佳等問題,透過教師不斷地反省與修正可逐漸改善;當遇到教學時間不足的問題時,只要教師有心推行,將能獲得解決。 三、學生在接受讀報教學的品格教育課程後,在品格行為上均有正向的表現。而透過提供《國語日報》親職教育文章分享,帶動父母自我省思與成長,促進家長共同參與品格教育,因此,家長、學生均對本品格教育課程抱持正面的支持與回饋。 四、在行動研究的實施歷程中,研究者不僅改善了班級管理問題,亦透過家長的參與增進對學生的瞭解,並藉由進行課程設計的機會,增進與同儕教師在教學上的交流,促進研究者的專業成長。
This research employed action research aiming to understand the difficulties and feasible teaching strategies which teachers might encounter in their teaching practice through the course of the implementation of Newspaper In Education (NIE) program on character education. It also explored the influence of character education on the students and the teachers' reflection and professional growth of participating in the research as well. The researcher utilized twenty-two students in his class as the participants to conduct the eighteen-week character education with core values "honesty", "responsibility", "respect", "filial piety", "caring and "gratitude". All the data collected from daily teaching, observation, reflection records, pupils' worksheets, checklists, feedbacks from participants and their parents plus the pre-tests and post-tests of students' behavior checklists. The conclusions were as following: 1. The contents of "Mandarin Daily News" contain every learning area. Extracting suitable materials from every section works as the media of implementing character education, which can make up the doubt that incorporate "character" into every learning area might be disregarded. On curricula plan, with regard to the characteristic of various sections in the newspapers, we can design some teaching methods like "reading and discussion", "self-reflection", and "practice in daily lives" to strengthen students' learning interest. 2. During the procession of character education with "Mandarin Daily News", the researcher's teaching was gradually improved with continuous reflection and revision when facing the questions such as reading materials with more than one character, uncertain sources of core values and materials and the absent leading discussion skills. 3. After receiving NIE, all the students had positive performance on their moral behaviors. Through providing the articles for parent education, parents might have their self-reflection and some growth, which encourages them to participate in character education together. Therefore, Both parents and students had positive attitude and feedback toward the character education project. 4. In the course of the action research, the researcher not only improved class management, helped him understand the students well through the participation of the parents, enhanced the communication of the peer teachers by the opportunities of curricula plan but also promoted the researcher's professional growth.
