國中英語補充教材全球教育內涵之研究

摘要


本研究旨在分析國中英語補充教材全球教育內涵,以瞭解全球教育內涵之數量分佈情形,並探討全球教育內涵之質性特徵。 本研究採用內容分析法,以英國教育與技能部公布策略計劃書中之八大概念為類目架構,包括「全球公民素養」、「衝突解決」、「社會正義」、「價值與知覺」、「永續發展」、「相互依存」、「人權」、「多元」等,分析國中英語補充教材中所蘊含之全球教育內涵,合計分析三個出版社,共六版補充教材,計72冊。所分析的這六版補充教材為大家說英語、ABC互動英語、常春藤生活英語、空中英語教室、Live互動英語、常春藤解析英語,包含量的分析與質的探究。 本研究結論如下: 一、初級教材全球教育內涵呈現次數以常春藤生活英語最多。 二、中級教材全球教育內涵呈現次數以空中英語教室最多。 三、整體全球教育內涵呈現次數總量以常春藤生活英語及常春藤解析英語最多。 四、教材中所納入的主要類目以「多元」居首,「價值與知覺」居末。 五、教材均納入四至五項全球教育主題。 六、教材較少納入「衝突解決」、「相互依存」、「價值與知覺」等主要類目。 七、教材主要類目都集中在少數議題上,分配不平均。

The purpose of the research was to analyze the contents of global education in English supplementary materials used in junior high schools to understand the display of the amount of global education and to discuss the features of global education in English supplementary materials. In this research, the items were analyzed based on the eight concepts of the Strategic Plan published by the Department for Education and Skills of UK in 2004, including “global citizenship”, “conflict resolution”, “social justice”, “values and perceptions”, “sustainable”, “interdependence”, “human rights” and “diversity”. A total of seventy-two volumes in six editions of supplementary materials published by three publishers were used for analysis. The six editions of supplementary materials were Let’s Talk in English, ABC Interactive English, Ivy League Enjoy English, Studio Classroom, Live Interactive English, and Ivy League Analytical English. The research employed content analysis to understand both the quality and quantity of global education embedded in these supplementary materials. The conclusions of the research are as follows: 1.In Elementary Level, Ivy League Enjoy English accounts for the most percentage of global education. 2.In Intermediate Level, Studio Classroom accounts for the most percentage of global education. 3.On the whole, Ivy League Enjoy English and Ivy League Analytical English account for the most percentage of global education. 4.According to the analysis, the frequency of “diversity” accounts for the most percentage and “values and perceptions” accounts for the least percentage. 5.The supplementary materials include four to five global education themes. 6.There are few categories of global education, including “conflict resolution”, “interdependence”, and "value and perceptions" found in the supplementary materials. 7.The main categories of global education focus on limited themes and are distributed unevenly.
