本研究主要利用專利分析,繪製咖啡產業關鍵技術之專利地圖,探討台灣咖啡產業關鍵技術之發展,分析專利件數、IPC分析與專利技術分析等,並透過APIPA資料庫之中華民國專利資料庫檢索,從1988年至2007年之有效專利共有543筆,而其中屬於咖啡生產階段之有效專利有79筆,並加以探討生產階段中技術之發展情形。 研究結果發現:(1)咖啡產業專利產出穩定成長,整體而言該產業在研發投入上相當積極。 (2) 台灣咖啡產業專利中非生產階段專利遠多於生產階段之專利,其中非生產階段之專利集中在咖啡消費端部分。(3)生產階段九項技術中,以研磨技術為關鍵技術,而烘焙技術中最具代表性的新處理方法為水蒸汽式技術。(4)生產階段之技術主要仍掌握在國內廠商,且廠商多為機械設備廠。台灣咖啡產業中生產階段之技術,國內廠商均衡發展表現優異,而非生產階段之專利則以國外公司佔優勢,且多以研磨機具為多數,不過研磨技術在改良與創新上已趨成熟,值得咖啡產業單位重視。
This paper is to apply patent analysis in coffee industry to explore key technologies of the coffee production process through patent map from APIPA database. Firstly, we set up key words to search Taiwan’s patent for the coffee industry from the period between 1988 and 2007. According to our patent index, it comes to 543 patents, some of which belong to coffee production process with 79 valid patents to investigate the technology development of coffee industry in coffee production process. The results showed : (1) patents applying in coffee industry are steadily increasing year by year in Taiwan. (2) patents belonging to coffee non-production-process are most related to the consumer end’s equipment. (3) the most important key technology in the nine technologies of coffee production process is grinding technology. Roast technology is another mainstream technology and its new processing method we found is steam-way technology. (4) we surveyed companies extracted from patent analysis are mostly owned by domestic companies which are focused on companies of equipment devices in majority. Domestic companies have good performances of patent indicators in production process but in non-production-process, foreign companies have advantage on it, mostly being grinding machine equipment. From our research, we found grinding technology presented mature in innovation and improvement, and also it’s worth for related coffee industry units’ attention about this technology development.
