技術創新與技術競爭張力關係之研究:以DRAM產業為例

摘要

本研究旨在探討廠商的技術創新對廠商間技術競爭張力之影響，因為基於動態競爭理論，此影響將干擾動態競爭學者預測廠商的競爭行動和回應的準確性。本研究結合競爭張力理論與專利分析方法，以DRAM五大技術廠商在2001年至2012年的公開專利作為研究範圍，以技術競爭張力來衡量廠商間技術創新競爭之關係。研究結果顯示：(1)產業內的技術創新競爭關係存在著競爭不對稱性的現象。(2)規模相當之廠商技術創新對彼此之技術競爭張力的影響產生正向影響。(3)廠商可藉由操縱技術創新的種類與數量來改變技術競爭張力，創造競爭的不對稱性。

Base on the dynamic competitive theory, the study explores the influence of technological innovation on competitive tension of technology. The influence will intervene to predict the behaviors of competition and rival responses precisely. Thus, the study combines competitive tension theory and method of patent analysis to verify the relationship by analyzing the data of patents during 2001 to 2012 on the DRAM industry.
The results show that: First, there is a phenomenon of competitive asymmetry of technology between focal firm and rivals in the DRAM industry. Second, technological innovations will positive influence on competitive tension of technology exiting on the equivalent firms. Finally, firms can execute particular technological innovation to manipulate the competitive asymmetry on the rivals.
