This research takes Wanluan Township (an area with recreational agricultural) in Pingtung County in southern Taiwan as an example and uses the theory of landscape ecology to explore the impact of multi-period landscape diversity on crop production in 1975, 2008, and 2015. The research method is to select variables related to agricultural development, such as agricultural labor force, the ratio of cultivated land area, pesticide use, fertilizer utilization rate, and rural electricity consumption, and use the environmental diversity index variables related to the ecological environment to analyze relevant statistics. The interaction between changes in landscape diversity and crop production were explored. The research results show that the index of landscape diversity (Shannon Index) is related to crop production. The landscape diversity has an impact on the biodiversity (ecology) of cultivated land, while the ratio of cultivated land area affects the change of landscape diversity. This research puts forward some views on how to provide the best agricultural production model from the perspective of ecological agriculture and landscape diversity. The ratio of the cultivated land area is positively correlated with the increase in the proportion of crop yields. This study believes that the ratio of the cultivated land area is one of the basic elements of crop production and is related to food security. However, there is a correlation between the diversity of landscape and the change in the ratio of cultivated land area. Take the study area of Wanluan Township as an example, under the same ratio of cultivated land area, the level of landscape diversity will affect crop production. In exploring the relationship between landscape diversity and crop production, it is assumed that the management method of cultivated land is changed, and landscape diversity will have an ecological impact on the crop environment, which in turn affects crop yield. The results show that the quantitative indicators of landscape ecology, the basic layout of the proportion of cultivated land, and other variables are interrelated. The simplification of landscape diversity will harm crop production. To maintain the sustainability of crop production, a certain level of landscape diversity is necessary.
