The study is to develop a machine vision system for automatic inspection of serrated product quality. The non-contact inspection system can accurately detect geometric characteristics of the saw-teeth shape. The image contour tracking method can scan the saw–teeth shape for measuring the gap, height, shape, sharpness, smoothness . The self-designed inspection machine system includes the equipment components as following. A high flatness moving table for positioning serrate using servo control motor. A top-view CCD camera is used to measure two-dimensional dimensions and a side-view CCD cameras is used to measure the collinearity of the saw tooth height . Finally, this inspection system can be used as a effective tool for qualifying serrate on the mass production line.
