The study was designed to examine the role conflict and succession of family business: using a multi-stakeholder perspective. Family business succession has always been an important issue for business operations. Because the succession process will involve multiple stakeholders within the enterprises, and these stakeholders’ expectations for the role of successor are different from the expectations of the successor for their own role. There will be a role conflict. These conflicts can easily lead to succession failure or the collapse of the enterprise. This research uses interview method and participation observation method to analyze the gap in the recognition of the role of successor among different stakeholders, the views and conflicts of the successor’s self-role, and the influences of expected changes in the role of stakeholders before and after the succession process on susscession of the family business.
