The COVID-19 pandemic has made a huge difference in people's lives. Consumer concerns about the risk of infection have changed spending habits, more and more consumers are using contactless payment methods such as mobile payments. This study is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and incorporates external variables such as perceived COVID-19 risk, social impact, and convenience in order to understand the factors that influence the intention to use mobile payments during an epidemic. This study used an online questionnaires survey method, a total of 302 questionnaires were collected, and after screening out invalid questionnaires, 274 valid questionnaires were validated and analyzed by SPSS analysis software. The results show that: Social influence had a positive effect on perceived COVID-19 risk and perceived usefulness; convenience had a positive effect on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use; perceived ease of use had a positive effect on perceived usefulness; perceived COVID-19 risk, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use had a positive effect on intention to use. Finally, this study makes some suggestions for the promotion of mobile payment and future research directions based on the research results.
