本研究的重點為設計與實作一個使用SCTP來傳送即時語音封包的網路電話(Voice over Internet Protocol, VoIP)並運作於Linux嵌入式系統,藉此可以利用SCTP的特性來達到在嵌入式系統內有效的降低即時語音封包的遺失率並保持良好通話品質。因此,主要研究工作著重於修改Linux Kernel SCTP(LK-SCTP)與修改VoIP應用程式,將VoIP應用程式中的RTP的功能以SCTP的功能加以取代,讓SCTP更加適合用來做即時語音封包的傳輸。
Internet technology has brought a tremendous effect on people''s life. For example, by using VoIP, we can video-phone call someone who''s somewhere in the world with little fee. It virtually reduces the distance between people. In this thesis, a VoIP of transmitting real-time voice packets by Linux kernel SCTP(LK-SCTP) is designed and implemented in Linux embedded system. The RTP function of VoIP application is replaced by the modified field function of SCTP Data Chunk. Effectively reducing the header overhead in the embedded system is presented and good voice quality is demonstrated.
