實現高效能多用途之負載平衡伺服器

摘要


近幾年來,網際網路蓬勃發展,上網人口每年呈倍數成長,由於網路與電子商務的快速發展,主機效能與容錯已成為網路服務提供者首要關心的項目。自70年代後期起,叢集系統在邏輯結構上已可滿足網路服務上的需求。現在,叢集系統已成為網路服務環境上的一顆新星。 本論文討論有關叢集系統中高效能計算, 高可用性及負載平衡系統的研究現況,並提出一應用在叢集計算環境上之負載平衡伺服器,除可提供負載平衡系統許多基本的平衡分配方法外,並利用多執行緒以實現多用途高效能之負載平衡伺服器,不僅能平衡分配輸入的網路流量,亦提供監測及容錯能力以達到高可用性的目的。此外,對所提出負載平衡系統之效能亦進行測試評估,並與現有系統比較。

Internet is becoming more popular and convenient recently. The population of Internet users has been grown multiple every year. With the fast development of networking and e-businesses, the server speed and fault tolerance have become the most concerned issues of the network service providers. Starting from the late 70’s, it has been proved that cluster systems can satisfy the requirements on most network services architecturally. Today, cluster systems are becoming the new star in all network service environments. In this thesis, we discuss the High Performance Computing (HPC), High Availability (HA) and load balancing of cluster systems and propose a load balancing server in the cluster computing environment. In addition to providing many balance methods for load balancing, the multi-threading has been applied in the proposed server to obtain an efficient multi-purpose load balancing server. Moreover, the proposed server not only offers the same monitoring and failover services that the straight HA packages offer, but also can balance and share the incoming traffic. Finally, the performance of the proposed load balancing server has been evaluated and compared with the existing server.
