三十一種草藥之美白、抗氧化及抑菌性質之探討

摘要


本研究係針對三十一種台灣草藥,對其熱水抽出物分別進行抑制酪胺酸酶活性、抗氧化及抑菌性質之初步篩選。三十一種草藥之熱水抽出率約為3.7 % 至41.1 % 。總酚類化合物含量則以重陽木最高,約為632.3 mg/g。三十一種台灣草藥中,有二十七種草藥之熱水抽出物具有高於50 % 以上抑制脂質氧化及捕捉DPPH自由基之能力。馬櫻丹、馬鞭草、白匏仔、鳳尾草及小飛揚草等五種草藥都具有高於60 % 以上之金屬螯合能力。三十一種草藥熱水抽出物之還原力與總酚類化合物含量呈現線性關係,其中以重陽木之還原力最佳。此外,重陽木、淡竹葉及白匏仔具有較強之超氧陰離子捕捉能力。與熊果素(IC50=2.72 mM)相當,重陽木具有顯著抑制酪胺酸酶活性之能力,其IC50為2.87 mg/ml。火炭母草則具有顯著抑制痤瘡桿菌之能力,其效果與過氧化苯(benzoyl peroxide)相當。紫茉莉、小飛揚草及白匏仔可開發為具有美白及抗氧化能力之天然試劑,而重陽木、含羞草及火炭母草則可開發為具有美白、抗氧化及抑菌能力之天然試劑。

Preliminary screening of hot water extracts of 31 herbal medicines for their anti-tyrosinase, antioxidant and anti-acne activities was conducted. The average yield of hot water extract from 31 tested herbal medicines ranged from 3.7 % to 41.1 %. Bischofia javanica showed the highest amount of total phenolics ca. 632.3 mg/g. 27 out of 31 tested herbal medicines showed more than 50 % of inhibition of lipid peroxidation and DPPH radical-scavenging activity. Five tested herbal medicines, including Lantana camara, Verbena officinalis, Mallotus paniculatus, Pteris multifida, and Chamaesyce thymifolia showed more than 60 % of ferrous ion chelating activities. The reducing power of 31 herbal medicines showed a linear relation to their contents of total phenolics. B. javanica had the higest reducing power among 31 tested herbal medicines. B. javanica, Lophatherum gracile, and M. paniculatus exhibited stronger superoxide anion scavenging activities. With IC50 similar to that of arbutin (2.72 mM), B. javanica exhibited significant inhibition of tyrosinase activity, Polygonum chinense exhibited significant antibacterial activity against Propionibacter- ium acnes, similar to that of benzoyl peroxide. Mirabilis jalapa, C. thymifolia, and M. paniculatus could be alternative sources for natural whitening and antioxidant agents. B. javanica, Mimosa pudica, and P. chinense could be used as candidates for whitening, anti-aging, and anti-acne agents.
