以空性的人文意涵應用於產品設計之探討

摘要


一般而言,在佛教的眾多經典當中,「般若心經」為現代民眾所熟悉的經典,其所講求的為純粹「心」的境界,發揚「空」教義。「空」並非空無,而是遵循著中道實相,產生一個無住的世界。本研究首先以「般若心經」中所蘊含「空」之深奧教義為依據,藉由大量佛教文獻的收集探討,分析其中的經文字義及明心見性之方法,並以專家討論之方法透過經文中歸納出設計的規範,以作為設計思維上的參考。其後本研究運用所分析出之設計規範進行概念式之應用設計,以期將空性的本質精神生活化、美學化,能適切地融入大眾日常生活當中。 本研究結果發現,空性的意涵雖於文字名相上有多重的解釋,但其講述之心法意義在設計中卻可充分的展現了事物的本質性及回歸性,本研究所提出的設計規則只要掌握基本精神特質的其中之一,藉由中心性的本質思維,將可展現出與一般傳統不同之設計方法與結果。

Generally speaking, the book “Heart Sutra” is universally known about Buddhism . The Heart Sutra is a teaching by the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara , the Buddha of Compassion, to the monk Shariputra . It is chanted regularly by followers of Buddhism at meetings and meditation practice. Although The Heart Sutra is very brief it contains key concepts of Buddhist Philosophy. These include the skandhas , the four noble truths, the cycle of interdependence and the central concept of Mahayana Buddhism, Emptiness . Emptiness is not nothingness. It is the other side of interdependence . All things are interrelated , you cannot take out an object and say this is here in and of itself. Its existence has no self-being . This is explained further by Avalokitesvara using the five heaps. The research based on the “ Emptiness ” concept to analyze and tried to find out some principles which can use in product design. Then we put these principles in use on design process. Our wish to transform the ZEN spirit into life esthetics. Consequently, we realized that even there are numerous expositions about “ Emptiness ” , but they all contain two characteristics ; essence and return . The research proposed three design principles. The designers only follow these principles , they can create a whole new product design about ZEN style, and it will be absolutely different from traditionally ones.
