過往對於文字與繪圖的輸入主要是依靠鍵盤與滑鼠,近幾年由於觸控螢幕技術的進步,筆式輸入設備的電子產品應運而生,使用者不需事先熟讀大量的符號、位置或是文字的拆解方式,即能用觸控筆做資料輸入,進行工作。 先期實驗中先是探討不同筆式輸入設備在書寫與繪圖成效的差異,結果發現除傳統的筆紙輸入外,就以平板電腦的成效最佳,參考過去文獻發現,觸控筆尺寸對於輸入的成效,確實存在著顯著的影響,觸控筆的剖面形狀對 PDA 之輸入成效亦有顯著影響,然而卻缺少對平板電腦觸控筆剖面形狀之探討,因此本研究的主要目的是探討平板電腦觸控筆不同剖面形狀,對於文字與繪圖成效上的影響,於是選取六種不同剖面形狀的鉛筆與觸控筆,進行書寫總時間、書寫錯誤率、繪圖總時間與繪圖穩定性等四項不同因變數的實驗,以及對於握持性排序進行問卷調查與分析。 經由 20 位受測者進行測試,所收集的資料在常態分配檢定後,以單因子區集變異數或 Friedman 檢定,研究結果顯示,不同剖面形狀的鉛筆與觸控筆在書寫錯誤率與繪圖總時間兩方面無顯著差異,然而無論是在紙筆部分或在平板電腦觸控筆部分,皆以圓形剖面在書寫總時間的成效最好,以橢圓形剖面在繪圖穩定性的成效最好,而握持性則以六角形剖面最佳。期望本實驗之研究結果,可提供日後相關筆式輸入設備設計之參考,提升筆式輸入設備之輸入成效。 關鍵詞:平板電腦、筆式輸入、觸控筆、剖面形狀。
In the past, text and graphic input are mainly depended on keyboard and mouse. Recently, due to improvement of touch screen technology, various pen-based input devices and related electronic products are developed accordingly. Users can enter data by a stylus without memorizing large amount of symbols, positions or word decoding methods in advance. Firstly, performances obtained from various pen-based input devices were studied. Besides the traditional pencil-and-paper input method, the results showed that the performance obtained form tablet PC is the best. Literatures have shown that the size of stylus has significant influence on its input effectiveness. The cross-section of stylus used with PDA has significant influence on its effectiveness as well but the discussion of the cross-section of stylus used with tablet PC is hardly found. Thus, the main purpose of this research is to study the various cross-sections of stylus used with tablet PC and its performance on text and graphic input. Thus 6 styluses with different cross-sections and a pencil were chosen to conduct the experiments. Their performances were evaluated and compared in terms of the total writing time, error rates, total drawing time and drawing stability. Also, the level of holding comfort will be rated. 20 subjects were recruited to conduct the experiment. The collected data were analyzed by one way ANOVA with blocking design or Friedman test based on their normality. The results showed different cross-sections of stylus do not significantly affect the error rates, and total drawing time. However, no matter in the part of pencil and paper or in the part of stylus used with tablet PC, cross-section with round shape has the best performance in total writing time and the one with oval shape has the best drawing stability. In regard to the level of holding comfort, the best is the one with hexagon shape. It is expected that the findings of this research would be good references in designing pen-based input devices to enhance their input performance.
