冷療為常用之物理療法,多被應用於退燒與運動傷害等,可達到消炎並減輕疼痛的效果,成效十分顯著。目前市售的冷敷袋內容物多為水、冰塊或化學藥劑,皆需經由冰箱冷卻後才能使用,因時效性而大幅侷限冷療的應用範圍,且由於溫度無法控制,容易造成皮膚凍傷、神經麻痺等二次傷害。為了改善以上情形,本研究係以熱電致冷器(Thermoelectric cooler)為核心,將針對散熱系統、水冷系統以及冷敷系統來探討其效能,以商品化為前提而開發出可攜帶式新型冷敷裝置。經實驗測試後,在空載時本新型冷敷系統能在10分鐘內,將冷敷袋溫度從初始的25℃降到一般發燒或急性運動傷害所需之冷敷溫度18℃;在使用5瓦(40℃)的電熱片作為模擬熱源時,也能在15分鐘內將冷敷袋溫度從初始的25℃降到18℃以下,再配合溫控系統,使得此裝置能提供持續並穩定的冷療作用,增加其便利性與時效性。
Cold therapy is a common treatment for fever and sports injury, it is significantly effective in reducing inflammation and relieving pain. The content of most ice packs in common are water, ice cube or chemical compound. It takes time to cool down those packs in the refrigerator for a least an hour or more before we can use them for treatment. It is a limitation and challenge for emergency and continuous cold therapy treatment. Moreover, the inappropriately therapeutic temperature may result in frostbite on skin surface or other adverse effects. In order to improve these problems, a brand new cold therapeutic device by a thermoelectric cooler will be designed. The thermal cooling module for thermoelectric cooler, liquid cyclic system and the cold therapeutic system will be investigated. The experimental result shows the water pack temperature will be decreased from 25℃ to 18℃ in less than 10 minutes in the conditions without with no external thermal load. On the contrary, the result shows the water pack temperature will be decreased from 25℃ to 18℃ in 15 minutes for the conditions with a 5 Watts external thermal load. Finally, the therapeutic system will be integrated with a temperature control system. A brand new cold therapeutic device driven by a thermoelectric cooler will provide much more benefits to our live.
