龍圖騰應用在產品設計中抽象與具象間的識別研究

摘要


圖騰是相當於是整個部族的標記,是精神的象徵,現今不論是從傳統產業到高科技 3C 產品,從平價生活用品到高級藝術品都有圖騰的出現與運用,在文創產業中象徵性的圖騰一直是不可或缺的元素,龍圖騰則是華人社會中非常重要的精神象徵,所賦予的意象有尊貴的、權力的、強化的…等等,唐宋流傳下來的九似之說,其表現形式有抽象的、具象的、有平面的、立體的,在這麼多不同的表現形式上,龍圖騰的意象是否有所不同。如何設計抽象的圖騰,如何設計具象的圖騰,特定意象的圖騰要怎麼設計,本研究將對此做探討。 從生活中、網路上等等地方篩選後,擷取一百張龍圖騰的圖片進行四個階段的問卷調查,第一階段將經亂數排序後的一百張圖片採用不完全平衡區集的方式進行實驗設計,給 20 位受測者進行抽象與具象的評分與排序,再以 Durbin Test 做檢驗,若顯著,則以 LSD 進行事後檢定,得出 19 張有顯著差異的圖片。 從文獻、辭典、日常生活用語中收集整理出 300 個常用的意象形容詞,請 30位受測者對這些形容詞適合用以形容龍的程度加以評分,採用不完全平衡區集的方式進行,挑選出 35 個平均得分超過 70 分以上的形容詞。 最後階段的問卷,請 30 位受測者,將前兩階段問卷所選出的 19 個圖騰,和 35 個意象形容詞做配對,並驗證其內在與外在效度。所得結果顯示,例如:最具象的圖騰適合搭配的形容詞有:品味的、氣派的意象,想要有永恆的意象,則可用最抽象的表現方式。本研究結果可提供設計師於設計龍圖騰時的一個參考依據,以及做為其它圖騰研究的一個範例。

A totem is a mark used to represent a whole tribe and symbolize its spirits. The totem has been applied extensively on various products and even on valuable arts. The totem is an indispensable element for culture creativity industry. Dragon totem is the most important spiritual symbol in Chinese society and usually endows with dignity, power, strength … etc. Since Tang and Sung Dynasties, the legend with nine similarities has been expressed in abstract or figurative, in two- or three-dimensional. Among these expressional forms of the dragon totem, the representing images might be different. This research thus intends to study how to design dragon totem in figurative or abstract form(s), and figure out which forms of dragon totem(s) indicating specific image(s). After 100 dragon totem pictures were screened and selected from everyday things and internet, a 4-stage questionnaire investigation was conducted. In the 1st stage, incomplete block design was applied on the randomly-sequenced 100 pictures evaluated by 20 examinees in terms of the abstract and figurative scorings and rankings. Durbin Test was then used to analyze the collected data. If there reached a significance level, LSD would be adopted to conduct the post hoc test. In result, 19 significantly different dragon totem pictures were chosen. 300 frequently-used image adjectives were selected from literature, dictionaries and daily vocabularies. 30 examinees were invited to score how those adjectives are suitable for describing the dragon totem. This stage was implemented by using incomplete block design. 35 adjectives scored more than 70 were selected. In the final stage, 30 examinees were requested to match among the 19 dragon totems and 35 adjectives selected in the previous two stages. The internal and external validity of the results were validated accordingly. The findings indicate that, for example, the image adjectives most suitable for describing the dragon totem include elegant and noble. The eternity image can be expressed by using the most abstract form. The findings of this research might provide designers a good design reference designing the dragon totems and be used as an exemplar for studying other totems.
