臺灣光碟片產業效率研究-以資料包絡分析法分析

A STUDY ON THE EFFICIENCY OF COMPACT DISC INDUSTRY IN TAIWAN-AN APPLICATION OF DEA ANALYSIS

摘要

光碟片產業在Sony、Philips 共同制定標準後，產品應用範圍愈來愈普及，臺灣廠商在積極佈局下，也成為全球產量最大的國家。光碟片產業隨著產品成熟的高需求、低毛利，而且在產品世代交替及價格競爭下，臺灣光碟片各廠商呈現高低起伏的狀況，所以，本文研究臺灣光碟片產業之經營效率，希望找出影響廠商效率之因素，並提供廠商未來改進之建議。
本研究利用資料包絡分析法、生產力指數變動及迴歸分析，針對臺灣光碟片產業廠商，包括中環、錸德、精碟、國碩、新利虹、吉祥全、鈺德、豐聲、巨擘、華鎂鑫等共十家臺灣廠商，研究的時間從2000年到2009年，就各廠商之效率、生產力變動及公司特性影響因素進行評估。
研究結果顯示 :
由Malmquist麥氏生產力變動指數分析顯示，從2000到2009年之平均生產力指數呈現改善狀態，而以新利虹改善最多，光碟片產業的規模效率與技術效率是生產力變動主要影響因素。而由生產力指數變動與股票報酬之關係則可顯示出，可錄式廠前期生產力改善對於股價較有影響力，而預錄式廠之大股東持股變化與股價有緊密關係。

The range of products applications became broader and broader since Sony and Philips jointly developed the standards of the Compact Disc Industry. Meanwhile, a constructive positioning strategy had made Taiwan Compact Disc Industry the largest production force among the world. Despite the overall productivity, Compact Disc manufacturer’s profit in Taiwan are varied due to high demand and low margin caused by product maturity, change of product generation, and price competition. Therefore, this study focuses on the management efficiency of Taiwan Compact Disc manufacturers in order to represent the causes effecting individual manufacturer’s efficiency and to make suggestions for future improvements.
This study applies Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI), and Regression Analysis and focuses on ten Compact Disc manufacturer’ s efficiency, change of productivity, and corporate specificity from 2000 to 2009 including CMC Magnetics Corp., RITEK Corp., PRODISC Technology Inc., GIGASTORAGE Corp., Lead Data Inc., Infodisc Technology Co., Ltd., U-Tech Media Corp., Feng Sheng Technology Co., Ltd., PRINCO Corp., and Homenema Technology Inc..The results of this study shows:
The according to the Malmquist Productivity Index, the average productivity was improving between 2000 and 2009, and the key issues effecting productivity were scale efficiency and technical efficiency. Among the ten Compact Disc manufacturers, Lead Data Inc. presented largest improvement within the timeframe. Meanwhile, the corelation between the Malmquist Productivity Index and stock return performances shows that Compact Disc-Recordable manufacturer’s early productivity improvements were more effective to stock prices, and the ownership changes among major shareholders of Pre-recorded Compact disc manufacturers were also closely related to the stock price changes.
