The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationships among occupational burnout, leisure coping strategies, and leisure benefits of nursing staff. The findings may be useful for healthcare administrations and hospitals. 700 self-developed questionnaires were distributed to the nursing staff in Ping-Tung area. 626 of those were collected and 585 were valid. The effective rate is 93.45%. Descriptive statistic, item analysis, factor analysis, independent-sample T test, ANOVA, and structural equation model were used to analyze the data. The findings are as follows: 1. In the overall occupational burnout dimensions, nursing staff have the greatest sensitivity in “mental and physical exhaustion” and the least in “lack of achievement”. In leisure coping strategies dimensions, “enhance positive emotions” is the most while “companion leisure” is the least. In the overall leisure benefits dimensions, “social benefit” is the most and “physical benefit” is the least. 2. Occupational burnout differed significantly with age, years of service, marital status, position, service unit, and income. 3. Leisure coping strategies differed significantly with age, years of service, marital status, education level, and income. 4. Leisure benefits differed significantly with years of service and service unit. 5. The influence of occupational burnout on leisure benefits is affected by leisure coping strategies.
