中文摘要 老年人參與休閒活動對晚年生活有正面的影響,基於連續理論的觀點,認為老人的休閒活動參與具有連續性的特質,在晚年時間會維持先前的嗜好及休閒活動。本研究目的在於瞭解老年人的休閒參與情形,並分析年齡以及健康狀況的變化對於休閒活動參與的影響。 本研究以行政院衛生署國民健康局「台灣地區中老年人社會生活狀況長期追蹤調查系列」之研究資料庫進行資料分析,本研究分析樣本數為1,428人。依變項為2003年休閒活動參與,共有九項休閒活動將獨立分析,自變項為1996年休閒活動參與、人口學特質、健康狀況以及1996年至2003年間的健康狀況轉變。透過SPSS 12.0統計套裝軟體進行描述性統計、卡方檢定與二項式邏輯回歸分析。 本研究之重要結果顯示: (一)老年人參與最普遍的休閒活動項目依序為看電視、散步、與親友鄰居聊天。 (二)隨著年齡增加,老年人參與休閒活動的情形呈現下降的趨勢。 (三)老年人隨著年齡的增加,從事休閒活動具備持續參與的特性,先前的休閒活動參與可預測晚年的休閒活動參與,支持理續理論的觀點。 (四)在健康狀況方面,功能限制為晚年有無參與休閒活動的重要影響因素,身體活動功能無障礙者,參與各類型休閒活動的勝算比皆較高。
Abstract Participation in leisure activities has a positive effect on the well-being of older people during their later years. Based on the theory of continuity, most older people will keep their previous hobbies and participating in leisure activities they have been participating since their young and mid-age years. The purpose of this study is to understand the participation in leisure activities and how age and health status changes might have an impact on the participation in leisure activities among the elders in Taiwan. In this study, data were taken from a 14-year longitudinal data from the Survey of Health and Living Status of the Elderly in Taiwan, collected by the Bureau of Health Promotion, Department of Health A total of 1,428 people were included for the current study. The statistical software package, SPSS 12.0, was used for descriptive statistics, chi-square test and logistic regression analysis. The important results of this study include: (1) Participation of older persons in the most common leisure activities were watching television, take a walk, and chat with friends and neighbors. (2) As people got older, their participation in leisure activities showed a downward trend. (3) As people got older, they continued to engaging in leisure activities. The most strong predictor of participation in any type of leisure activities was their participation in the same activity 7 years ago, which is consistent with the continuity theory. (4)In terms of changes in health status, the most important factor was the elders’ functional limitations. An increase in functional limitations would prevented the elders from participation leisure activities.
