The ”Huang Di Wai Jing” had already been called the ”seven scholastic sects of medical classic” by the historians in the Western Han Dynasty. According to the ”Han-shu i-wem-chih”, it stated that ”18 volumes of Huang Di Nei Jing. 37 volumes of Wai Jing; 9 volumes of Bein Hoeh Nei Jing, 12 volumes of Wai Jing; 38 volumes of Bais Nei Jing, 36 volumes of Wai Jing; 25 volumes of Pan Pein”. The Huang Di Nei Jing and Wai Jing, Bein Hoeh Nei Jing and Wai Jing, Bais Nei Jing and Wai Jing, and Pan Pein were called the ”seven scholastic sects of medical classic”. The ”Huang Di Wai Jing” was one of them. The ”Ancient Medical Books Review” also stated ”Huang Di Nei Jing and Wai Jing looked like 'E-Jing' Nei Kwa and Wai Kwa, 'Chun-Chiu Nei Jun and Wai Jun', Chung Tzu Nei Pan and Wai Pan, and 'Han Fei' Nei So and Wai So”.
