更年期症候群表現多樣化，並涉及多個組織和系統，故對鑑別診斷更顯得重要。中醫治療處方時，要求做到有是證，用是藥，不拘泥於腎陽虛、腎陰虛二型。若證型不清，可根據最突出的症狀，給予辨症治療，以期達到最好療效。
