顛覆傳統視覺設計語彙的新主張　解放式的設計風格

摘要

六○年代正是西方國家，呈現在文學、藝術、政治、經濟、科學等的高度成長，尤其在視覺藝術方面的成就，更是耀眼，不過，在此同時甚少人去關注到同屬視覺範疇中的『設計』風格之轉變做為主題之研究。故以下便就，自1967年，發行至今的《滾石（Rolling Stone）》音樂雜誌及近年來發行之雜誌《Ray Gun》，將其兩者編排設計上的風格，做一比較，藉以了解這兩份雜誌，對六○年代及九○年代的設計語彙、流行、音樂、視覺認知及圖案語言，所反映的時代性、社會性、視覺性、審美性及流行性等的課題，做一番省視，以便更能洞悉每一時期，設計風格的轉變、傳承乃至創新的脈動原則。人類自有歷史以來，即不斷開創新的文明知識體系，建立典章制度，制訂各知識體系中的規範條文，以便讓人們有所依循，藉以擺脫野蠻的及無知的心靈。倘若，在二十世紀的今天，能重新去試圖解放，在視覺原則下的種種束縛時，將是前所未有的超脫感，而這種經由自覺式的設計語彙，直接挑戰來自傳統，人們視覺閱讀上的章法。這些較具代表性的設計師有：英國的Neville Brody及美國的David Carson及Lewis Blackwell等人。不過，相信這種『解放式的設計風格』，將不斷地試探著人們視覺最原始深處的本性－『自然回歸』，讓現今的人們再重新思考『人』的基本原始本能。

In 1960, it shows a highly development at literature, art politics, economics and science in Western country, especially, in the field of visual art gets highly achievement. Nevertheless, There are a few people to concern about the transformation of visual style of design to serve as a topic research. So, the following will compare the style of layout design in two music magazines of Rolling Stone and Ray Gun. To understand the change of design style at each time period of design language, fashion, music, visual cognition and graphic language to reflect the topic of society, visual sense, trend of the times, aesthetics and popularity in '60 and '90. Since, human being creates the history and establish new civilization of knowledgement　system, and setcys the rules in each system to let people to follow. But, in the next contury, if we coutry to liberate the restriction of the principle of visual rule, it will show a greatly and deeply challenge to traditional visual arts, especially in the field of graphical language. So to speek, it is an intuition design language. And it is meetional about the fundamental skill of a design, talent is the roat. Actually, talent is a rave commodity. It's all intuition. And you can’t teach intuition. (-Paul Rand 1996). It is all about the way of rules of regular reading. Those important designers are the following of: Neville Brody (UK), David Carson (USA) and Lewis Blackwell (UK) and so on. It will continue to explore the visual primative characteristic of human being, to let people try to figure out the fundamental primative capability of a human being.
