技職院校通識教育的契機與創新-高雄技術學院個案探討

Challenges and Innovation of General Education in Vocational and Technological School: A Case of National Institute of Technology at Kaohsiung (NITK)

摘要


面對社會分化之「拆零」現象所引起的兩種文化對立的衝擊,通識教育的「科際整合」特性將扮演更重要角色,近年來的教改呼聲,建構技職第二條國道及校園自主化等皆成為技職院校推動有特色通識教育的契機。本文以高雄技術學院為個案,探討其在通識理念、組織架構、課程規劃及教學方法的嘗試創新,期望拋磚引玉,以迎接技職院校「新通識時代」的來臨。

Following impacts brought by ”two cultures”, interdisciplinary orientation of general education has raised much more attention as a whole. In particular, educational reform, both in grassroots and official fashions, has promoted so called ”second highway” for vocational and technological education system in achieving a holistic education goal. In this sense, general education is expected to play a significant role in shaping unique ”campus culture”. This article is an attempt to present a case of National Institute of Technology at Kaohsiung, a three-year old new institute, by displaying her unique and innovative model of general education in terms of concepts, organizational structure, curriculum and teaching methods.
