Following impacts brought by ”two cultures”, interdisciplinary orientation of general education has raised much more attention as a whole. In particular, educational reform, both in grassroots and official fashions, has promoted so called ”second highway” for vocational and technological education system in achieving a holistic education goal. In this sense, general education is expected to play a significant role in shaping unique ”campus culture”. This article is an attempt to present a case of National Institute of Technology at Kaohsiung, a three-year old new institute, by displaying her unique and innovative model of general education in terms of concepts, organizational structure, curriculum and teaching methods.
