A 63 year-old female came to our clinic with the presentation of right tonsillar and upper neck masses. The masses were hard, mobile and CT scanning showed well defined, calcified masses. The patient received tonsillectomy and neck mass excision for relieving obstruction symptoms under the impression of tonsillar tumor. The pathology came out to be ectopic thyroid and papillary carcinoma with neck metastasis. The management is discussed along with brief review of the relevant literature on embryology.
