Fibrous dysplasia is a benign disorder. A hallmark of fibrous dysplasia is that normal bone is replaced by abnormal proliferation of connective tissue, fibroblast and osseous tissues in the medullary cavity that eventually erodes the cortex into a thin shell. It can affect long bones, ribs and craniofacial bones. We experienced a case of eight year-old boy who presented with postauricular swelling and ear fullness in February, 1995. High-resolution comput-erized tomography revealed the mastoid of the temporal bone was involved. Partial excision of mastoid lesion was performed and the pathology report disclosed fibrous dysplasia. The postoperative course was stable and no swelling of postauricular area was noted after fifeen months’ follow up.
