此篇論文提供一新的方法來改變橡膠主鏈及側鏈之性質,在此步驟中包含使用硼是一便利且有效的方法,由商業大量生產出來得橡膠可以藉由官能化及接枝改變其特性,在整個過程中是先生成含硼的共聚物在藉由自由基的共聚合反應將單體接枝到橡膠的主鏈或側鏈上,含硼共聚物可以直接由兩單體合成或由橡膠直接硼化反應製得1由此製得知含硼共聚物可直接轉變成含各種不同官能基之共聚物,或由含硼共聚物引入氧氣使變成自由基之高分子,再與單體如MMA、HEMA、或苯乙烯等進行自由基共聚合反應。另外含有氫氣甚的共聚物也可以直接與環己內醋進行共聚合反應。由以上所製備的共聚物是一種有效之聚合物泥合時的調和劑。
This paper discusses a new method to modify the rubber backbome and side chain. The process involves the use of borane which offers a convenient and effective way. The commercial products of rubbers can be modified which includes functionalization and grafted copolymerization. The chemistry involves a borane-containing copolymer and graft from a free radical polymerization. The borane containing copolymer can be directly synthesized from two monomers or from the hydroboration of commercial products of rubbers. And then the borane can be converted to different functional groups. The borane containing copolymer can also be exposed to oxygen in the presence of free radical polymerizable monomers which include MMA, HEMA and styrene. The copolymers containing polycaprolactone can also be prepared from a hydroxyl-terminated initiator. The resulting grafted copolymers are an effective compatibilizer for a polymer blend.
