摘要

茶壺的製作起源甚早，幾乎在人類懂得搏土為器的新石器時代就已出現，並在早期的人類生活中扮演重要的角色。而隨著人類生活的改善與文化的提昇，茶壺也發展出各種形式的變化，其裝飾的表現也十分豐富多樣。但是儘管如此，茶壺的造形仍然維持著壺身、壺口、壺把、壺蓋的基本形態，而成為人類生活中相當獨立的器物造形樣式，這種基本樣式在陶器茶壺中尤其明顯，這在世界各地的陶瓷茶壺製作中，可以清楚地觀察出來。
在現代陶藝創作中，一般可分為實用陶瓷器的製作與純粹造形表現的陶塑製作兩大類。實用的陶瓷器除了要達到在實際使用上的機能要求外，在造形與釉色上則必須強調創作者的自我風格。而純粹造形表現的陶塑作品，除了在造形、釉彩、質感上必須符合美學要素外，創作者本身的意念表達也要十分明確。茶壺的製作隨著現代陶藝創作風氣的影響，也引起了相當大的變化，茶壺的實用功能已不是唯一的造形目的，而被視為藝術家創作表現的主體，隨著創作者的意念，對茶壺做出不同的詮釋，成為現代陶藝創作中重要的表現形式之一。

The creation of teapots has a very early origin. It appeared as early as the time when humankind discovered the use of earth (clay) to make utensils. Teapots were from then on played an important role in human's daily life. With the improvement of human life and the advance of human culture, teapots developed various styles and their decoration displayed a myriad of patterns. However, the shape of teapots has always maintained three fundamental elements-the body, the mouth and the handle. These three characteristics can clearly be observed on ceramic making around the world.
The creation of modern ceramics can be divided into two groups--functional ceramics and non-functional ceramic art. In the creation of functional ceramics, what are emphasized are not only brilliant functions but also their creators' individual style and glazing. As for non-functional ceramic art, not only must its style, glaze, and texture meet the esthetic principles but also the ceramist's artistic idea has to be clearly expressed. Due to the influence of modern ceramic, the making of teapots has greatly changed. The function of teapots is not the only consideration for potters in their molding of teapots. Instead, the shaping of teapots is viewed as potters' artistic expressions. With potters' own individual ideas, they make different interpretations on teapots. As a result, teapot making becomes a significant art form in modern ceramics.
