一九六○年代早期台灣設計留日學生對目前設計界的影響之探討

本研究計畫以兩年期，針對1960年代由政府機構（生產力及貿易中心、金屬中心），學校（明志工專、國立藝專、大同工專）或私費留學，早期台灣設計留學生當時最主要以日本、德國兩國，因人數關係依留學國家分兩次，以文獻探索與人物訪談調查方法，爲探訪當年設計留學生對日後台灣設計界的影響與貢獻。因國情與距離的關係，當年設計留學生人數首推日本：計有郭叔雄、蕭本龍、范發斌、蘇茂生、王銘顯、李薦宏、廖有燦、江明德、王健等人，故本研究以上述人士作爲研究對象。研究結果：郭叔雄早期1960年代協助中國生產力及貿易中心(CPTC)邀請日本工業設計專家來台舉辦工業設計訓練班的時擔任助教及講師工作貢獻甚鉅，蕭本龍曾擔任大同工專工業設計科主任、CIDA協會理事長，范發斌早期曾參與設計教育，爾後在鈴木機車及太子汽車擔任首席設計師，蘇茂生爲近代視傳設計先驅者，曾編著『海報設計』一書或協助廣告公司設計業務，王銘顯曾擔任明志工專副教授，台灣藝術大學校長，領導台灣設計教育，李薦宏創立唯一本華文設計雜誌『工業設計』，並擔任台北科技大學設計學院院長，廖有燦曾於明志工專任教，後爲有志室內設計學苑、廖有燦建築補習班，謝牧民任教職後爲中華民國工業設計中心暨包裝中心經理，江明德留學返國後行蹤不明，王健除了在教育界以外，還擔任過CIDA協會理事長，王健設計學苑負責人，訓練民間設計人才與設計實務。透過本研究，瞭解1960年代台灣設計留學生回國後，無論在設計教育、設計推廣設計實務的貢獻甚大，奠定了今日臺灣設計的基石，使今日的台灣設計跟上世界的腳步。

This research project would plan to spend two years to research the early 1960s of Taiwan design students went to abroad to study design field, the most mainly countries were Japan and Germany. They were supported by Taiwan's government; the school or paid own expenses. Owing to number of students and the abroad study country, the research divides two parts. The investigative methods are used by the literature review and the character interview. It will explore the influence and the contribution of design students to design education field of Taiwan during 1960s. Duo to the national condition and the distance, the almost design student went to Japan; The student were Kuo, Shu-Hsiung、Hsiao, Pen-Lung、Fan, Fa-Pin、Su, Mao-Sheng、Wang Ming-Shean、Lee, Chien-Hung、Liao, Yu-Tsan、Hsien, Mu-Min、Chiang, Ming-Te、Wang, Chien and so on. The research project does take these students as the aim to study. The result of the project: Kuo, Shu-Hsiung represented the China Productivity Center to invite the Japan industrial design expert to come to Taiwan conducted when the industrial design training class as a teaching assistant and the translation, the contribution is really great during the early 1960s. Hsiao, Pen-Lung had be director of the Department of Industrial design, Tatung University、the Director of CIDA, also organized furniture company and had been as the first designer in YAMAHA motorcycle company. Wang Ming-Sh had be an associate professor of Ming Chi University of Technology, the principal of National Taiwan University of Arts, led the design education field of Taiwan. Lee, Chien-Hung organized the first Chinese design magazine and also is the dean of Faculty of Design, Taipei Scientific and technical university. Liao, Yu-Tsan had taught in Ming Chi University of Technology, latter was dean of the Yu-Chif design institute. Hsien, Mu-Min had as a teacher, and then organized a design company, later as a manager of Center of the Industrial design and Package design of R.O.C. Chiang; Ming-Te had lost contact when he backed to Taiwan. Except for serviced in the educational field, Wang, Chien was the Director of CIDA and the boss of the Wang, Chien design institute to trained the folk as a designer and promoted design practice. By this project, could understand the design students returned to Taiwan, both in design education field, design practices have contributed significantly to laying the basis for the design in Taiwan today.
