奈米碳管之變形模型

Simple Deformation Models of Carbon Nanotubes

摘要


自奈米碳管被發現後,許多的努力都在研究如何在可控制的範圍內製造奈米碳管,同時其可應用性亦被廣泛探索,可是卻只有少數研究專注於其機械特性。在此,吾人提出一簡易變形模型,其分析結果可推算出一zigzag型奈米碳管之最大延伸量為原長度之三分之一,亦可導出延伸量與管徑變化之關係;此模型雖然簡單,卻可提供初學者對奈米碳管變形之初步了解。

Just after the discovery of carbon nanotubes, a lot of works have been done on how to fabricate them in a controllable manner. Also, their applications are vigorously investigated. However, seldom researches are focus on mechanical properties of carbon nanotubes. Here, simple deformation models of carbon nanotubes are suggested and imply that the maximum extension of a zigzag nanotube is one third of its original length. Relationship between the axial elongation and diameter is also derived. Although the models employed are quite simple, they are still worth to be discussed, especially for new beginners.
