The outbreak of the Korean War widely ignitedthe fear that East Asia might fall under communist rule. The United States' allies in East Asia started to send visiting forces to each other with the purpose of cooperating and collaborating as the war expanded. For example, after the Airforce (ROC) visiting, Taiwan sent the Fleet of Friendship (ROC) to Philippines in 1953. This visiting was regarded as the beginning of the annual visiting of the Fleet of Friendship. This article will discuss the visiting of the Fleet of Friendship (ROC) in 1953 based on the archives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, and the newspapers, memoirs to show how the international connections and friendships wereestablished with the military visitings during Cold War period.
