The Effects of New Style Calisthenics on Physical Fitness in Elementary School Students: A Meta-Analysis

摘要


The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of new style calisthenics training on health-related physical fitness in students by a meta-analysis. This study searched the electronic databases, including Electonic Theses and Dissertation System and Chinese Electonic Perodical Services. A total of 12 studies including 977 sbjects (609 exercise, 368 control) met the criteria for inclusion. The MIX 1.7 software was used to calculate the weighted mean differences, Cohen's d effect size, Cochran's Q for homogeneity, Egger's regression for publication bias and to draw the funnel plot and forest plot. Data from each trial were pooled as appropriate using either fixed-effect or random-effect model by heterogeneity test. The results of the meta-analysis showed that significant effect size were found in standing long jump (Cohen's d=0.24, 95%CI: 0.13~0.36, p<.001) and 800 meters run (Cohen's d=-0.378, 95%CI:-0.48~-0.25, p<.001). In conclusion, new style calisthenics training promoted the physical fitness including muscular power and cardiorespiratory endurance in elementary school students.
