世新學院校園地方偏好之研究

A Study of Students' Preferences of Place in the Campus of W.C.J.C.

摘要


本文試圖以質性研究之三角交叉檢視法來探討世新學院學生之校園地方偏好,以及地方偏好形成之途徑,並分析校園地方特質。希望研究結果可供校園學習環境改造之參考。 世新學院學生最喜歡的校園地方是:圖書館、舍我樓、山洞(口)及運動場,喜歡的原因最主要是處於這些地方具有良好的環境屬性、其次是有較佳的學習成長、優美的景觀眺望與和諧的人際關係。世新學院學生最不喜歡的校園地方是,世界新閔樓及中餐廳,不喜歡的原因最主要是這些地方的環境屬性較差、其次是不和諧的人際關係。 由學生校園地方偏好分析,可發現世新校園地方具有下列之特質:山洞口是世新的地標。舍我樓是世新的新核心地方。世界新聞樓是最不受喜歡的校園地方、圖書館是最喜歡的校園地方。山洞口及活動中心令學生愛憎交織。地方之新舊不影響偏好。地方之高低不影響偏好。動與靜的地方彼此干擾。校園內外混淆不清。校園前與後界分不明。這些地方特質不一定直接決定學生地方偏好,但與校園環境屬性、校園景觀、人際往來及學習成長有密切關係。所以改善環境屬性不佳的地方、提供可促進人際往來的地方、增加學習成長的軟硬設施是改造世新校園學習環境的最佳途徑。

The three objectives of this study were: to profile students preferences of place of campus of The World College of Journalism and Communication 〔WCJC〕; to under stand how the preference course were formed; and to analyze the characteristics of places in the campus of WCJC. In the WCJC, positive place preference by students inc1uding the Library, the S-R Building, the Tunnel, and the Playground .The reasons were attributed to: better environmental attributes, harmonious interpersonal relations, and a chance for learning and self-growth. Negative places preference by students including the W-J Building and the Chinese Restaurant. Reasons behind were negative int1uences on environmental attributes and interpersonal relations,. Working on those undesirable environmental attributes, providing places beneficial to the facilitation of interpersonal relations, and increases of both hardware and software to advance and enhance learning were the most effective methods on improving campus learning environments.
