咖啡幼苗期遮蔭试验

A Preliminary Study on Shading in Relation to the Seedling Growth of Coffea Arabica, Linn.

並列摘要

1. The Arabia coffee (Coffea arabica 1.) usually adapt itself to- the environment in partial shading. In the open land, the strong sunlight may retard its growth and make its leaves becoming yellowish and small, and susceptible to disease, particularly in the seedling period. When the coffee is planted under some moderate shading, it will grow vigorously without heavy disease. In this experiment, it showed that the growth of the stem-height, the stem dry weight, and the leaf dry weight of the seedlings were more favorable under the shading of bamboo flames than those without shading. 2. The growth of the seedlings under the flames with 34.93% passage of the daylight showed no prominent difference, when compared with 40.45% passage. But when the light passage through the flames decreased to 25.28%, the differences of height growth of stems between them then became very significant the dry weht growth of stems increased 11.68% and 13.63%, and of leaves increased 15,62% andl6.94% more than those with 34.93% and 46.45% light passage respetively. According to the results, it was found that the light passage between 25.28% and 34.93% through the bamboo flames played an important role to the seedling growth of one-year-old coffee plant, particularly to the growth of height.
