身心障礙者口腔醫療照護計畫:蘭陽智能發展學苑推動經驗分析

Dental Health Care Program for People with Disabilities: The Experience of Lan Yang Mental Developing Center

摘要


身心障礙者(智能障礙、自閉症、多重障礙等),因自我照護能力、口語表達能力不足,當照顧者發現口腔問題時常是嚴重且需立即治療的,又因身心障礙者從小未建立良好的口腔就醫模式(對就診環境的陌生),難以配合治療;需以鎮靜或全身麻醉的方式診療,對於身障者及照顧者來說是沈重的負擔。蘭陽智能發展學苑於民國九十四年開始籌畫發展身心障礙者口腔醫療照護計畫,此計畫是在機構內設置口腔診療設施設備,與當地牙醫師公會合作,推薦接受過身心障礙者牙科相關訓練的醫師看診,配合熟悉的環境及照顧者的安撫,穩定身心障礙者的情緒,進而增加治療的配合度及完成率。在口腔醫療照護計畫執行的同時,口腔預防保健工作的配合才能有效的改善身心障礙者口腔問題,如何教導院內師生正確的潔牙方式及重視口腔衛生議題,是身心障礙者機構在推展此計畫的重要課題。

Dental health care is an important issue faced by people with disabilities. However, there are few health care program for this group in Taiwan. The aim of this study was to explore the dental health care program for people with disabilities based on the experience of Lan Yang Mental Developing Center, Yilan County, Taiwan. We will introduce the dental health care program history, programme and service utilization of people with disabilities, and the challenges of this program.
