熱向性共聚酯熱熔膠之性質研究

The Investigation of the Properties of Thermotropic Copolyester Hot Melt Adhesives

本研究計畫將4,4'-聯苯二甲酸二甲酯(dimethyl-4,4'-bibenzoate),己二酸與烷撐二醇(alklene glycol)(1,5-戍二醇及1,6-己二醇)以熔融聚縮合法製得共聚酯。所得共聚酯以固有黏度,IR,NMR,DSC,偏光顯微鏡及X-射線繞分析研究其性質,由DSC分析可得知共聚酯的玻璃轉變溫度(Tg)及熔點(Tm)。共聚酯中的己二酸酯單位的含量提高時,Tg隨著降低。共聚合效應則明顯降低了共聚酯的Tm及結晶度。由DSC,偏光顯微鏡及X-射線繞分析結果顯示x=0.1-0.4的BBAA-6(x)共聚酯及x=0.1-0.2的BBAA-5(x)共聚酯顯現單向性距列液晶相。x增高時,△Ha顯著降低,表示距列排列規則性降低。

Two series of copolyesters have been prepared by melt polycondensation of dimethyl-4,4'-bibenzoate, adipic acid, and an alkylene glycol (1,5-pentanediol and 1,6-hexanediol). The copolyesters have been investigated by inherent viscosity, IR, NMR, DSC, polarized microscopy, and X-ray diffraction, and their mechanical properties have been measured. The polymer composition of the copolyesters can be seen from NMR spectra. It can be seen the Tg (glass transiton temperature) and Tm (melting point) of the copolyesters from the DSC data. When the content of the flexible adipate unit increases, Tg of copolyesters decreases significantly. Copolymerization effect decreases the crystallinity and Tm of the copolyesters. It can be seen from the DSC, polarized microscopy and X-ray diffraction data that BBAA-6(x) copolyesters with x=0.1-0.4 and BBAA-5(x) copolyesters with x=0.1-0.2 exhibit a monotropic smectic phase. As x increases, △Ha decreases indicating the smectic order decreases.
