A Study of Psycho-physiological Responses, Work Performance and Eye Movements of Inspectors Using Three Saccade Directions

The purpose of this research was to discuss the effects of visual inspectors on the psychological response and work performance in different directions. Collecting different saccade directions that people usually use in reading habits (Horizontal, Vertical and Randomly) to inspect wafer defects. Measures the effects of the direction to participants' physiological signal (Galvanic Skin Response, Skin Temperature, and Heart Rate), visual fatigue (Subjective Questionnaire) and work performance (Signal Detection Theory). It was found that when the participants used a randomly saccade, the physiological response showed a high alert state and was not easy to feel visual discomfort; it was better to identify the total output of the product. On other hand, when the participant uses the horizontal direction, there is relaxation and lack of concentration, and the work performance is not significantly improved.
