Neurilemmomas of the tongue are rare lesions. We encountered a 68 year-old man presenting with a 1.5 × 1.5 cm painless mass on the left side of the tongue for more than 6 months. This ovoid, well-encapsulated tumor mass was smoothly extirpated. The pathology report showed it was a neurilemmoma. There has been no evidence of recurrence 1 year after surgery. Neurilemmo-mas represent a pathologic variety which is usually not taken into account in clinical practice. Diagnosis is often difficult until the definitive histology is reported. Total excision of the lesion is usually curative.
