文獻上的諸羅山社

The Ping-pu Village-Tirocen: It's Life Style and Development on Literatures

摘要

諸羅山社原位於今嘉義市中正公園址，漢人最初來此開墾時，即取諸羅山社的社名發音而將漢人村落名為諸羅山莊，納入清政府管轄後，更以諸羅山為名而設立諸羅縣，是臺灣第一個以番社名命名為行政區名的平埔族村落。
本文主要以文獻上的記載為本，企圖呈現諸羅山社居民的生活方式，包括經濟生活、住屋型態、飲食、婚嫁、祖靈祭…，其次從官方治理方式的角度切入，按時代脈絡，當試探討諸羅山社沒落的原因。
從荷蘭時代即有的贌社制固然剝削平埔族，然而清代屯政的實施恐怕對平埔族的傷害更大，諸羅山社的屯地劃在今豐原一帶，最後終因離社太遠無法親自耕墾而不得不賣地，也導致了整個番社更趨沒落。
沒落的諸羅山社到了日治時代，因為殖民政府要在社址上建公會堂而被迫遷村，遷到竹圍莊旁成一新聚落，取名「新竹圍仔」，遷村後的變化情形如何，則有待更進一步的研究。

This paper aims at exploring the life style and development of the Ping-pu village-Tirocen before 1895. First the paper describes the life style of Tirocen that included economic activities, settlement types, diets and so on. Second the paper discusses the development of Tirocen. Especially discusses the rule way of the government from the Dutch period to Ching period. We find that the government’s rule way were a key-point to cause decline of the Ping-pu village.
