Capless Lamellar Keratoplasty - One Cut Keratomileusis for Treatment of Myopia

摘要

Since October 1995, we have performed 20 capless lamellar keratoplastry procedures for moderate degree myo-pia. The surgeries involved 13 patients (9 women, 4 men) with an average age of 27.7 years. All treated eyes had simple myopia with a best corrected visual acuity at least 0.5.We used an automated lamellar keratoplasty (ALK) Machine for surgery with only one cut across the corneal surface to reshape the cornea. The mean preoperative spherical equivalent was -2.28±1.06D (-2.50D to -6.50D). The mean postoperative spherical equivalents at one week, one month, three months six months and twelve months were +0.33±1.68D, -0.14±1.33D,-1.46±1.22D,-1.31±0.93D and -1.24±1.00D respectively. Overall, 20 eyes (100%) had much improved naked visual acuity after surgery. Uncorrected visual acuity surgery was 0.5 or better in 15 eyes (75%). Two eyes (10%) lost two lines or more of best corrected visual acuity. No serious complications were noted during one year of follow-up.
