This article describes a young female patient who was suffering from the severe burn caused by hot oil. She received nursing care from December 21st to December 31st, 2017. During the treatment, the patient suffered from not only wounds pain, surgical stress, and difficulty of accepting appearance changes. The patient appeared apathetic, avoidant and depression. Through a comprehensive assessment of the patient, we established the following health issues: impaired skin integrity, acute pain, and body image disturbance. During the nursing process, we used pain control techniques to relieve the patient's pain, provided information on wound care, encouraged and facilitate acceptance of self, to cope with the changes that came with the accident. Therefore, regain the patient's confidence and improve both mental and physical health. We hope this nursing experience can serve as a reference provide information for extensive burn patients.
