臍橙非臺灣進行混農林業之適當果樹作物

Navel Orange is Not an Appropriate Option for Agroforestry in Taiwan

摘要


為了對現有契約保管林地內已行混農果樹栽培區之生產與生態保育效益進行整體評估,本研究受國立臺灣大學實驗林管理處委託,以和社營林區27林班66地號及水里營林區15林班298地號合作造林地現有之臍橙栽培區為樣本,自2010年至2012年,收集地點與環境相關參數,調查果樹營養生長狀況與果實發育,並進行林農訪談與果園管理記錄收集分析。結果顯示,以栽培管理現況論,二試區之林農皆未對區內之臍橙果樹進行積極管理,施肥與修剪等田間管理作業頻度相當低,故試驗區內人為干擾度亦低。二試區於2011年及2012年因3月著果期的乾旱,園區無水源可供灌溉,造成嚴重生理落果。果實發育後期又遭果實蠅危害,二試區幾無果實可採收。現有果樹生長與發育狀況不佳,半數以上植株因疏於管理及病蟲害死亡,栽培生產不具經濟效益。現階段而言,對於試驗區內之自然生態環境影響相對較平地專業果園輕微,但此一經營模式已不符合混農林業之精神。

To document the balance between fruit tree production and environment conservation, we assessed two forestlands currently practicing agroforestry with navel oranges (Citrus sinensis Osbeck 'Washington Navel') in the National Taiwan University Experimental Forest. We collected environmental parameters and measured various growth indexes of navel orange trees at the evaluating sites between 2010 and 2012. We also interviewed growers and recorded cash flow of the land management. Currently, the two forestlands under evaluation and the navel orange trees within are not receiving intensive cares compared to a commercial navel orange grove nearby. During the evaluation period both sites had very little human activity involved. Hence, a high biodiversity was maintained. However, the growth condition and the yield of the navel orange trees in both sites were poor with little commercial potential. In addition, half of the navel trees were killed by pests and diseases during the evaluation period. We concluded that navel orange appears not an appropriate option in such low intensive management type of agroforestry in Taiwan.
