觀光及運輸所造成的二氧化碳日益受到人們所重視,因此本研究針對旅遊過程之碳排放量及生態足跡進行分析,碳排放量以二氧化碳作為評估標準,生態足跡則以面積為單位以評估環境衝擊。本論文之研究對象為國外來台旅遊之遊客,首先調查來台旅客在整個行程中會排放多少二氧化碳及生態足跡,最後針對來台旅客旅遊之碳排放與生態足跡提出改善策略。本研究以來台旅客來台之運輸、住宿、活動三項類型之旅遊行為進行碳排放量及生態足跡之調查。運輸碳排放量為最高約961kg,最小為活動碳排放量約18kg。石化能源地之生態足跡為最高約77.09%,食物與纖維消費(耕地、森林、海洋、牧草地)為最小約2.04%。旅遊所產生的二氧化碳逐漸被人們所認同,但礙於無法實際解釋對環境造成的衝擊,由生態足跡來解釋,可瞭解目前人類實際消耗的生物生產力土地。本研究希望藉由檢視各項旅遊過程中可能造成的消耗,加深旅客之環保意識,也使消費者評估旅行中對環境的衝擊,對環境保護更加以重視,進而提供政府及旅遊業者於實行相關旅遊政策時之規範及參考依據。
