透過藝術的語言教育在華德福學校實踐之研究

摘要


藝術作為一種學習方法,透過藝術讓學習不只是單向的傳輸,還是一種多元的刺激,也是很好的學習切入點。華德福學校系統近年來在台灣蓬勃發展,其教育著重以藝術化的方式來導入各學科的精神,本研究從杜威經驗論教育哲學切入,採用訪談法及文件分析法,從語言教師採行藝術化教學的運作方式與相關文獻,歸納其課程架構,發掘華德福課程如何從廣泛的藝術教育脈絡中尋找讓兒童及青少年在不同階段透過藝術來學習的方法,並以藝術策略如何影響語言學習為出發點探究華德福學校的藝術化教育,以期能為將來的語言及藝術教育帶來不同的可能性。

My study is to investigate how art as an educational tool has a special place in Waldorf Schools, especially in foreign language education field. Being a English teaching in junior high school for three years, I always wonder about how to motivate students to gain a truly understanding of not only regarding foreign language as a practical tool in earning better grades or materialistic gains but also as a way in being able to empathize with other people’s perspective and see the world differently. Therefore, I try to find a paradigm which shows a way of being capable of teaching students as a whole person. Waldorf Schools may be the accessible example of this kind of education paradigm, and that’s what I intend to explore and conduct a research for. Hopefully, my result would demonstrate a different viewpoint in language teaching with the possibility of being able to apply to my own teaching as well as other teachers’ in the mainstream education system. Given my objectives, interviewing with the foreign language teachers in Waldorf School of Taiwan is the best way of collecting experiential data. Based on the perspective of thinking of art as dynamic forces in education and great entry point in versatile teaching and learning, we can see Waldorf education system is devoted to promote students’ affective forces and help balance their body, soul and spirit. However, each unique teaching style may lead to different results and reflections. I would like to show how those artistic ideals originated from Rudolf Steiner’s anthroposophy theory are adopted and practiced in Waldorf Schools.
