The purpose of study is to compare the effects of anti-liver cell injury, duct obstruction and cholestasis by three prescriptions including Yin chen hao Tan (YT), Zhi zi Bo pi Tan (ZBT) and Ma huang Lian qian Chi xiao dou Tan (MLCT) from Shan han Lun treated intrahepatic cholestatic jaundice induced by alpha-naphthylisothiocyanatein (ANIT) in rats. Results demonstrated that the effects of YT treated intrahepatic cholestatic jaundice included anti-liver cell injury, duct obstruction and cholestasis are significantly different from ZBT and MLCT. ZBT has a significant effect for duct obstruction. Ma huang Lian qian Chi xiao dou Tan (MLCT) has a significant decrease for total hyperbilirubinemia. The results suggest that the YT may offer a treatment reference for acute and recurrent intrahepatic cholestasis caused by drugs and viral infection.
